A Changing Life
My name is Yamileth Espino, I have been working at Ceiba S.A. for a year, and I am going to tell you about the great opportunity that this shipyard has brought to my life.
I remember it as if it was yesterday, the day that this job was offered to me. I remember all the emotions and all the feelings I had at that moment — for me it was a blessing. There are only very few job opportunities here, you could almost say that there are close to none, even less if you weren’t able to study long enough to qualify for a career.

I was given the chance to join the shipyard maintenance team, and so I started to clean the whole place. Every day that I came to work was very exciting for me, it did not only mean gaining an income, but the job also gave me something even more important, namely support and a peace of mind that I was so looking for, because I could finally get ahead of my expenses and those of my daughter, which used to be a day by day fight, as I am a single mother of a little girl. Ceiba S.A. did not only give me this job opportunity, but also gave me the assets and strength to be able to provide a better life for my daughter.
The experience here has been wonderful and also allowed me to grow professionally: A short while ago I started to get trained in carpentry, working with large machines, very heavy woods and things so new and so unique to me that I can assure that it had never crossed my mind to be experiencing this kind of things in my life.
I am grateful for having the best expectations of my future, this has given me the power to know and remember that I can and will go ahead. This project reminded me that I can believe in myself and that I am capable of being anything I want to be and that there are no limits.
This ship is built in Costa Rica and it also rebuilds me every day.
Thanks to our investors we are able to bring job opportunities to this rural area of Costa Rica and support young members of the community.
UNA VIDA CAMBIANTE

Mi nombre es Yamileth Espino y hace un año que trabajo en Ceiba S.A., y les voy a contar la gran oportunidad que ha traído el Astillero a mi vida.
Recuerdo como si fuera ayer el día en que se me presenta esta oferta laboral en mi vida, recuerdo la emoción y todos los sentimientos encontrados que tuve en ese momento ya que para mi fue una bendición, ya que las oportunidades de trabajo aquí son muy pocas, se podrían decir que nulas, menos si no posees suficientes estudios para poder formarte en una carrera.
Recuerdo cuando me dicen que puedo formar parte del área de mantenimiento y fue ahí cuando comencé a trabajar en la limpieza de todo el lugar, cada día que llegaba a trabajar era muy emocionante para mi ya que esto no solo significó una entrada de dinero sino algo más importante para mi que fue una ayuda y brindarme la tranquilidad mental que yo buscaba, puesto que ya podía comenzar a salir adelante con mis gastos y sobre todo los de mi hija, soy madre soltera de una pequeña niña por la cual lucho día con día para salir adelante. Ceiba S.A. me brinda no solo una oportunidad laboral sino que me dio las fuerzas para poder brindarle una mejor calidad de vida a mi hija.
La experiencia ha sido maravillosa, me ha permitido crecer profesionalmente, en este momento me encuentro en el área de carpintería, trabajando con grandes máquinas, maderas muy pesadas y cosas tan nuevas y tan únicas para mí que puedo asegurar que nunca pasó por mi mente estar experimentando este tipo de cosas en mi vida.
Estoy agradecida por despertar en mi mejores expectativas para mi futuro porque esto me ha dado el impulso para saber y recordar que puedo salir adelante, este proyecto me recordó que puedo creer en mí y me recuerda que soy capaz de ser cualquier cosa que quiera ser sin tener ningún límite.
